Starting school is often as much a journey for the parent as it is for the child. Ms Mechil Lumogdang remembers when her son, Mohamed Areez Furqan, first enrolled in a Special Education (SPED) school. He has autism and mild intellectual disability. Ms Mechil’s initial anxiety turned into reassurance and then to pride, as she saw Areez in good hands at APSN Katong School, growing and progressing with a circle of support.
