How is MOE supporting our teachers so they can give our children the attention they need?

Currently, through the implementation of SBB(Sec), teachers are trained to handle diversity within their classes and to bring out the best in every child. They are able to assess the learning and growth of their students through various school-based assessments, and offer them the opportunity to take the subjects (English Language, Mother Tongue Languages, Mathematics and Science) at a more challenging level, if they are able to do so.

Our form and subject teachers will continue to place heavy emphasis on getting to know each student well, supporting the socio-emotional and holistic development of students in their classes, even if a student may attend different subject classes throughout the school day. In addition, the Year Heads typically follow the cohort for at least 2 years and the CCA teachers will know them well over the time in secondary school.

MOE will continue to support our teachers by providing them with teaching and learning resources and guidelines for assessment. There will be peer groups for mutual learning and professional development to help them manage the wider range of learning styles of students as a result of Full SBB.
